- Lateral epicondylitis (tennis elbow) and common extensor tendon tears
- Medial epicondylitis (golfer's elbow)
- UCL tears and partial tears
- Distal biceps and triceps tendon injury
- Ulnar nerve entrapment at the cubital tunnel
- Osteochondral lesions and loose bodies
- Olecranon bursitis
- Occult fractures

Ordered for lateral or medial elbow pain unresponsive to conservative care, suspected tendon rupture, or throwing-related injury.
How to Prepare
- No fasting or special preparation.
- Short sleeves or a gown.
- Remove watches, bracelets, and any elbow strap or brace.
- Tell us which elbow.
Common Questions
Usually not at first. Tennis elbow is diagnosed clinically and most cases resolve with rest and therapy. MRI becomes useful after several months of failed treatment, or when a full tendon tear is suspected.
It can show the ulnar nerve and the space it travels through at the elbow. Nerve conduction studies remain the functional test — MRI shows the anatomy causing the problem.
